AC LInk Cloaker PDF Print E-mail

AC Link Cloaker is a Joomla! 1.5 extension that helps you manage and hide your outgoing URL links - such as affiliate links - and turn them into ordinary looking site links.

Transform something like this ...

http://y674ybfbfeby.myaffiliateprovider.com?affiliatelink=478frneuniuf&product=thisproduct

... into something like this ...

http://www.mysite.com/recommends/this-product.html

... and improve your click through rate massively!

These new cloaked links can be displayed in a variety of ways, depending on your SEF preferences, and can be added to article content, menu's, or anywhere else on your Joomla! site using the included module.

AC Link Cloaker is sh404sef compatible and includes an automatically installed plugin to enable this. A custom folder structure for your links can also be created, which is useful if you do not use SEF links on your site.

You can also transform your cloaked link into either a standard text link, an image link, or a form button, and use your own custom CSS styles to change how they appear when displayed. Pre and post text/HTML can also be applied to add extra information before or after the link itself. It's all very customizable.

Links are displayed dynamically, and can be managed easily in the back end administration, so site wide changes to each link you have placed on your site are only a click or two away.

When your user clicks the new link, they will be automatically redirected to the original URL, in either a new window, the same page, or a frame of your choice. AC Link cloaker also records the amount of times each link has been clicked, so you can keep an eye on how your links are performing.

Features:

  • Contains a Joomla! component for back end administration and displaying your cloaked links as menu items
  • Contains a Joomla! content plugin for displaying your cloaked links in article content
  • Contains a Joomla! editor button plugin allowing you to easily insert cloaked link tags into article content
  • Contains a Joomla! Module for displaying your cloaked links anywhere else on your site
  • Contains an automatically installed  sh404sef plugin for compatibility with sh404sef
  • Can display the cloaked URL and displayed link in a variety of different ways
  • Links are displayed dynamically allowing for site wide changes to be made from the component administration
  • Link redirection to a new window, same window, or frame of your choice (including custom iframes)
  • Records the amount of 'hits' for each link
  • As with all our products, you are entitled to free future updates and an unlimited site license

Requirements:

  • An Internet Connection
  • Joomla! Content Management System Version 1.5.x

When I went through to buy the product, there is no SSL information. I'd like to have a link cloaker for Joomla but is there another way I can pay you and receive the product?

Do you mean the Warning about it being unauthenticated content? I've only just noticed this and will look into it.

I don't use SSL, which is why I use PayPal for all payments (you've heard of them, right?). The unauthenticated content will probably be the Angelcoding logo or something similar that is being sent to PayPal to be displayed on the welcome page.

You would have something to worry about if you'd been asked for personal/credit card details before entering PayPal but that's not happened.

Just login to PayPal or hit 'continue' to pay by card and I'm sure you'll see that everything is padlocked and safe and secure.

If you still don't trust me, have a look at some of my reviews on the JED and you'll see that that there aren't any suggesting I'm a thief.

Regards,
Steve

I just bought the Joomla link cloaker and everything was fine. I just found it unusual that the there was no SSL on the top of the Paypal page like there usually is. I did my due dilligence before paying to verify it was in fact Paypal so if anyone has hesitations like I did, don't worry. Downloaded perfectly fine and I can't wait to dig in!

@MantapBos

SH404SEF is a third party component written by another company.
When ACLC was first written, sh404sef was popular, non-commercial and free, it has since gone commercial. You can find it by searching Google for sh404sef.
We hope to support some other non-commercial sef extensions soon, although you may already be able to use Artio SEF as a replacement by copying the sef_ext file to Artio.

Right now, 1 British Pound is 1.6069 US Dollar. So, why is 5 British Pound not equal to 8.0345 US Dollar, but is converted to 10 US Dollar instead? Why do we have to pay 1.9655 US Dollar more?

If I pay by PayPal charging 5 British Pound, how much will I be charged in US Dollar?

@ Tim
Sorry, no 1.6 version just yet although I am toying with the idea. Maybe soon ...

@ Suraphol
You are using a standard retail exchange rate to work that out (from sites such as XE.com). If you've ever had to deal with currency conversion on PayPal, either sending or receiving, you'll know that they use a different exchange rate which is much more in their favour. As I'm based in the UK, using GBP, I have to adjust this for other currencies so I don't lose out too much financially. There's nothing stopping you from paying in GBP but make sure PayPal doesn't do the currency conversion. I think if you pay by card, your own bank would do the conversion which would likely be cheaper. This is also explained here http://www.angelcoding.com/frequently-asked-questions.html Although, things may have changed by now.
