AC File Payments is a free Joomla! 1.5 extension that helps you to provide files to your users in a variety of secure ways.
Whether you are asking for payment or a donation via PayPal, or you require the user to register before they can download, you can restrict downloading until they have made the required action.
Once a user has paid/donated/registered they will then have access to the file(s). You can even create an individual download page and add any other information or files they might require. Only users with authorised access will be able to download the files on offer.
Features:
- Contains a Joomla! component for back end administration and creating download pages and a user download area
- Contains a Joomla! content plugin for displaying your payment buttons in article content
- Contains a Joomla! editor button plugin allowing you to easily insert payment button tags into article content
- Contains a Joomla! Module for displaying your payment buttons anywhere else on your site
- Uses PayPal for purchases/donations
- Can be used to restrict file downloads to registered users only
- Payment buttons are displayed dynamically allowing for site wide changes to be made from the component administration
- Records the amount of 'purchases' and 'downloads' for each file
- As with all our products, you are entitled to free future updates and an unlimited site license
Requirements:
- An Internet Connection
- Joomla! Content Management System Version 1.5.x
Please consider donating some money to aid the continuing development of AC File Payments and keep this extension free and up to date. You can use the Paypal donate link below ....
This software is GPL licensed, by downloading it, you are agreeing to these terms.
At present, AC File Payments can only grant paid access to file downloads. If you need a more powerful solution that will let you grant paid access to different areas of your Joomla site, such as specific articles or extensions, then I highly recommend using RSMembership! |

I have a few suggestions too if you are interested.
@Matt
We are always interested in suggestions and have a section in our forum for just that - www.angelcoding.com/Forum/Joomla-Products/AC-File-Payments/Feature-Requests/ - so please post anything there.
It's only early days for this component and we have a lot of extra features already planned. Look out for a PRO version in early 2010 also - this will include even more stuff.
i'm testing with sandbox and this extension seems great.
i'm using sh404sef, and when i come back from PayPal, i've a 404 error. how can i manage this issue ?
how can i translate the extension in french ? does the extension manage multiple languages ?
ACFP was tested using sh404sef as well as the core sef and there were some issues with return url's. I thought these were fixed, but possibly some issues remain. It was not helped by a bug in PayPal's system that returns all data vars back in the url if using donations. The way around that bug is to turn on auto return in your PayPal settings, so give that a try.
Most of the extension text should be translatable through the extension's language ini file, just like any other extension.
If you need more help, please post questions in the forum.
thank you
I don't understand what you mean.
Please use the 'contact us' link at the top of this page to send me a full explanation of what you require.
Thanks,
Steve
How do I use South African Rand as the default currency though ...?
Unfortunately PayPal doesn't support the South African Rand at present - please see https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/sell/mc/mc_receive-outside.
I think PayPal might be in the process of allowing the Rand but I'm not sure - try searching about it on Google.
You might be able to set up a US Dollar PayPal account and accept payments that way.
At some point I'm hoping to add some other payment processors other than PayPal, but I couldn't tell you when exactly.
Regards,
Steve
